I heard the Cents were going in their place. What a joke! Why isnt the next place Kelowna team going in their spot?

Drillers had some injuries and advised BCBHA they may have to drop. They have had some players recover faster than anticipated and used their allowable pick-ups to field a team.

BCBHA gave the Centurions a heads up they were the next team in line if the Drillers did in fact drop. If you were told they bailed it was your team rep giving you incorrect information.

I thought the Kelowna playoffs were not completed. So wouldn't that spot depend on where teams finish or were the Drillers the only "A" representitive they were going to send?

Location: from parts unknown...
it seems strange that kelowna (7 teams), kamloops (12 teams), vernon (8 teams) and penticton (5 teams) all have b teams (and kelowna even has a premier team)...victoria has 12 teams and can only field c teams...shouldn't league size alone dictate that there is at least one b team sent as a representative from there??? what are the conditions for a league to have a b team at provincials??? i've played enough victoria teams in the past to know that they often send teams too strong for c to the provincials...they do have the talent there to compete at the b level...they seem to only do that when they have to move up and then they move back down as soon as they are able...it just doesn't seem right that 2/3 of the b division teams are from the lower mainland...though i'm sure they are all glad for the chance to play...

All the reps should get together at the AGM at the Provincials and propose new legislation making it mandatory for a host city to provide an "A" division team in order to hold the "A" or "B" div portion of the tournament. The tournament should be help local so the Premier teams can bring forth their strongest lineups resulting in the highest level competition possible. "C" div Provincials can be held at another location every other year.

Playdown game will take place Monday July 19th 8:00pm Planet Ice Coquitlam Rink #4.

If you have any questions about these things have your team reps contact the league operator who has been made aware of this information weeks ago.
